I just realized my last journal post was about the art show from last year. OOPS. It went well. Tinker sold and got lots of attention. No plans for new vinyl creations in the near future, but eventually.

Lots to come soon hopefully. I've learned Photoshop painting and I will be returning to school for Video Game art in just a few short weeks. I'm super excited to learn about 3D software.

Stay classy, DA.

I will be at the Cast in Plastic show in Houston, TX on May 14. Tinker, Creepston, and Infesty will be there too! Come see me and many many more awesome artists and their customs.

Artist's Statement:

When viewing my art, consider the following:

Think of the stories presented by the Terminator and Matrix movies. Humans make robots, robots gain consciousness, Robots destroy humans and take over the Earth. That story is fun and leads to some stunning visuals, but after watching these films I always wondered, "what are the robots going to do now that they've taken over the earth?" Would they set up little communities that looked like the apartment life we humans used to live? Would they make robot pets to take care of? Would they have robot children and would they grow into rebellious robot teenagers?

My goal is to answer these questions (and others) by creating my art. While painting or drawing, I feel as if I am a photographer trying to tell the story of these robots through a single frame.

The Munny Munth contest was up some time ago. Sadly, Tinker received no "official" recognition from KidRobot, but I don't mind. I'm just glad to have him finished.

I had a very nice gentleman email me a few days ago, and after some conversation, he decided that he would like to buy not just one, but a pair of original paintings! This makes the 3rd and 4th originals I've ever sold. The two paintings he bought were two of my favorites: "The Skies are Mine" and "A Quick Pose for a Stranger". Parting with Quick Pose was a little tough, but I can always paint more like it.

Also Tinker is doing rather well in the Munny Munth contest. I can't wait to see the final results. There are many good entries.

I've been making prints. They're glued on wood blocks and ready to hang. They look pretty slick. If you're good, I'll provide some images and a link so you can own one. They're only $15. Better than some silly commission. Stay tuned, still ironing out the details.
